What are the new IB Standards and Practices?

The new IB processes

  • Preliminary review

A new IB process system has been launched which states that schools will have to present the evidence documents before the site visit for feedback which means schools must be able to have their documents organized so any quick action can be taken. 

  • Action Plan

A new action plan system for IB papers has been proven quite beneficial in terms of guiding self-assessment therefore schools can take any kind of action to meet up the new practices and standards of IB papers. Similarly, after the preliminary review, IB can count on your action plan abling you to make the necessary changes before having the actual site visit.

  • Self-study Questionnaire

There are two sections in self-study questionnaires for IB papers as per the new IB standards and practices.

The first section is the same as the one before, but program development is added new. In this way, a case study can be produced by the school for the analysis, reflection, and development of the DP.

  • DP unit Plans

There is another important change added for the IBDP schools for which they have to submit a planned DP unit stating and fulfilling the IB course requirements such as TOK (theory of knowledge) and CAS  (creativity, activity and services) for IB papers.

  • Descriptors

Self-assessment descriptors have been reduced from 4 to 3. Schools should be accountable to specify each practice and implement the best practices by the highly developed, developing, and developed standards for IB papers.

  • Evaluation documents submission

A new platform has been introduced for the documents submission of schools through IB Concierge. Through this platform, schools can easily drop and drag results by using ManageBac for the PYP inquiry program and many more things!
