What changed for N23 IBDP Examination?

The IB has implemented adjustments to tackle the difficulties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. These adaptations encompass modifications in learning, teaching, and evaluation methods, which were also extended to cover the examinations in 2022.

What are the IB changes for Nov 2023?

In 2023, the IB intends that the distribution of grades awarded to return close to those of May 2019. With this in mind, grade boundary setting will take further disruptions into account and grade boundaries for Nov 2023 may not necessarily be the same as those of May 2019.

How will IB Exams be structured this year?

In 2023, students enrolled in the DP, CP, and MYP programs will be required to complete the full array of assessments outlined in the program and subject guides available on the program resource centre. The alternative non-exam route that was accessible in 2020, 2021, and 2022 will not be an option for the 2023 IB Exams.

More recently, the IB has communicated the introduction of three distinct time zones for conducting the N23 examinations. These time zones will correspond to the time zones of the students' school country:

  • Exam Zone A: UTC +12 to UTC +3.5

  • Exam Zone B: UTC +3 to UTC +0

  • Exam Zone C: UTC 1 to UTC 10

However, it's important to note that the IB has also indicated the possibility of making further adjustments to exams and grading in 2023 if unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event that a non-exam pathway to the diploma is offered again, your teacher will likely estimate your IB exam score based on your performance in other class assessments. This information will be shared with the IB, which will subsequently issue a final score.

What will changes in IB Exam pattern?

As IB is reverting to the pre-COVID format, which was administered to all IB students each year prior to the pandemic.
