IBDP: Psychology
The biological, cognitive, and socio-cultural approaches to interpreting behaviour are the three main topics covered in the IBDP Psychology course.
The knowledge, ideas, theories, and research that have advanced our understanding in various domains are studied and critically evaluated by students. A holistic and integrated approach to understanding mental processes and behaviour as complex, dynamic phenomena is created by the interaction of different study methods for psychology, enabling students to recognize both the differences and similarities between their own behaviour and that of others.
Further, the course has four options, which center on the applied psychology fields of abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, health psychology, and relationship psychology, helping students understand the contributions and interactions of the three methods.
