Word of advice from the former IB students
Undeniably, the IB program can be the worst experience when you have the pressure of exams over your head. But we also know that up and downs go side by side. That's why we have asked some former IB students to share their IB journeys and experiences and how they tackled all the barriers that came along their way. We hope that their words of wisdom and tips will personally help you in this IB journey of yours.
An obvious memory
“Those few last minutes of the IB exam when everyone had an odd look of finishing the paper. That insight of hope you receive, when the examiner started collecting the papers and students start giving each other that bright smile is worth the struggle.”
¬Peter Sands[2015 Graduate]
“My clear memory from the IB exams preps "I was revising for my Math SL exam and a person at my neighbors was hitting the violin so hard and I still remember that ear-splitting sound of the violin personified the way I reacted.”
¬Sarah Jones [2017, Graduate]
“My Gosh, the liberty you feel after exams is a feeling out of the world. I never had felt so wild and free in my whole life.”
¬Carol James [2018, Graduate]
The Most difficult phase
What I found the hardest was "To look after myself under the pressure of the exams whether eating my vitamins or staying hydrated or sleeping enough. Always feed yourself first and stay hydrated during exams as it will work positively for your preparation.”
¬Peter Sands [2015 Graduate]
“The hardest part was to follow a satisfactory schedule during your exams. I would state that you have to take some extra care of yourself than usual but memorize one thing that exams won't last forever.”
¬Sarah Jones [2017, Graduate]
“Being enclosed in a quiet place for my exams revision made my head go bonkers and this way I realized how important it for you is to get some fresh oxygen.”
¬Carol James [2018, Graduate]
Get over the fact that you screwed your exam
“Relax, if you didn't do so well in one exam or two. Take an hour to wipe your tears and get over that sense because one sheet of paper cannot decide your future. It's all in vain to grieve over something that can't be fixed so take a chill pill.”
¬Peter Sands [2015 Graduate]
“Stop imagining the outcome of what has already fallen instead; start preparing for the next exam, and try as hard as you can this time.”
¬Sarah Jones [2017, Graduate]
“If you believe you have screwed things for yourself; go outside and inhale some fresh air because there is zilch you can do about something that has passed.”
¬Carol James [2018, Graduate]
