DOs and DONTs of IBDP Revision Routine

When the exam waves its hands from a stone’s throw distance, you must prepare yourself with all welcoming bouquets and banners. The last moments of IBDP revision require a well-planned schedule, and you need to remain immensely energetic, confident, and productive at the same time.

To nail your final moments of IBDP revision, you must emphasize a few key activities while utterly avoiding some others. Let’s see what Blen has to say on that.

DOs

Things you must do in order to achieve a perfect mental and physical balance in your final days for exam preparations.

Sleep well and eat healthy

It goes without saying that if you don't get enough sleep at night or eat healthily, you'll remain less productive throughout the day. The final moments of IBDP revision require heavy focus and energy. To accelerate your learning, have eight hours of sound sleep, avoid junk foods, stay hydrated, and don’t starve yourself.

Brush up the most essentials

You've already made a list of the important concepts, and it's time to go through them one by one. Don't overwork yourself by studying irrelevant topics. Keep your focus on the task at hand, and seek your gaps once again.

There’s no point in focusing intensely on revisiting the entire syllabus. Have you tried bookmarking the crispy key concepts onn Blen?  Hmmmm… wondering what is that? Blen made it easy to bookmark not only key concepts but also those tricky questions for the last-minute quick referencing. So, you can invest more time on learning by organizing a plethora of concept you are dealing with.

Take breaks

Take small pauses between your IBDP revision sessions, but not too frequently. You may use the Pomodoro, it's an excellent technique to stay focused and maximize your study outcome. After every 25 minutes of studying, take a 5-minute break, and do it 4 times before focusing on a more extended study session. This will re-energize you and help you stay focused on your studies.

DONTs

Must avoid doing these, and you’ll crack your IB score

Anxiety

A slight panic before a test is usual and can help you realize the seriousness of the test. But over anxiety can interfere with your exam performance. You can’t indulge it; after all, what you have prepared for long shouldn't be going in vain.

Maintain your natural IBDP revision strategy, involve yourself with a consistent routine, go through some relaxed time, and get some easy exercises if required.

Study too hard

Burning out over studying too hard may ruin your IBDP revision process. It’s better to study an hour incessantly with focus than to study for 5 hours without adding any value. Keep up with your natural routine, follow your natural pace of study, and make sure you are not overdoing it.

Countdown

It happens to all. But exams are not like missing a train. Well, even if it is, what’s the point of counting time if you are on the right platform at the right time? A trashy countdown in your mind may lead you to anxiety and wreck your entire IBDP revision strategy.
